Teen Spirit, Francesca Lia Block

In the book Teen Spirit, by Francesca Lia Block, Julie grew up comforted by someone she deeply loved, her grandma. But, when her grandma passes away, everything changes. Julie practically starts a new life (attending a new high school, living in a new neighborhood, finding new friends) and she struggles to keep herself together. But, someone else enters her life. His name is Clark. He’s special, definitely in more ways than one. And, he gives her someone to talk to, while they unravel adventures that will make Julie understand who she really is. I really did enjoy Teen Spirit.

I liked this book because its unique. Not only does it incorporate more than one genre, but it also has some plot twists. Just when you think things are going well, boom! , it all changes. This factor adds suspense, keeping you on edge.

I would recommend this book to people who admire original plots. Although, some parts are sad, so if you don’t handle death well, then this is not the book for you. On the other hand, it is a fast moving book, which is why I believe anyone who likes a mystery/action packed book with a little romance would be fond of it too.
