After reading the book Where the Stars Still Shine, by Trish Doller I learned that life, as we know it can change very rapidly. In the book the main character Callie is living alone with her mother, Veronica because Veronica ran away from her father, Greg and took Callie with her.
Veronica has a problem that her emotions change very quickly and she has no
stable job because almost every three days Callie and Veronica would move.
Sometimes they would live in an apartment illegally or Veronica would hook up
with a guy and they would live in his house. One day Veronica and Callie are
leaving this guy Frank’s house, but Veronica gets
pulled over and she is sent to jail. Since Veronica is in jail Callie has to
live with Greg who she hasn’t seen in 17 years. Greg is obviously very happy
but Callie feels so awkward to be part of a family because Greg remarried after
Veronica ran away and had two boys.
Callie then gets a job and she meets this boy
named Alex Kosta and she and him get pretty friendly and get together so Callie
has totally flipped her life around. But once Veronica gets out of jail then
what happens… you are going to have to read the book to find out! I liked this
book because of many reasons. One was that Callie’s story was so interesting.
Also I love mysteries and in this book you will never know what is going to happen
next. Also the plot in the book is kind of realistic and so it is scary to read
it, which excites me! I absolutely loved this book. I would recommend this book
to someone who is interested in mystery and real life issues. Also this book
has a lot of love in it and so I think 13 or older could read this book. If you
want to read a good book then read this one!
