The Death Cure by James Dashner

In the month of January, I read the book, The Death Cure by James Dashner. This novel is about how a solar flare almost destroyed mankind. The flare turns people into cranks, which are like zombies. When a person turns into a crank they try to eat other people and they become very violent. Only a few cities in the world remain uninfected by this solar flare. A group of the world’s most intelligent people came together to form the organization called WICKED. WICKED’s goal is to find a cure for the flare and to save mankind. WICKED will do anything to find a cure, including kidnapping people. WICKED has used some people that are immune to the flare for testing and trails. Their trails are very cruel and life threatening. Only one percent of the people on the Earth are immune and they are hated for being immune. People call them munies in the novel. Thomas and a group of immune teenagers called the Gladers try to stop WICKED from their cruel trails and try to save the other immune people. Thomas and a group of people called the Right Arm try to stop WICKED and the trials. Thomas will have to face many hardships and the loss of some of his friends. Thomas and the Gladers are determined to stop WICKED and to save the immune population.

I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to anyone who likes adventure novels. This book is the last book of a three part series consisting of The Maze Runner,  The Scorch Trials, and The Death Cure.  There is now also a prequel called The Kill Order.  I enjoyed this book because there was a lot of action and it was very descriptive of Thomas’ thoughts and actions. I would recommend this book to people who like to read about fighting and hand to hand combat. I would additionally recommend this to anyone who likes novels about the end of the world.
