How (not) to Find a Boyfriend by Allyson Valentine Schrier

Nora Fulbright used to be a smarty pants that people were only nice to if they needed help with homework or a project. When Nora moved to a new town, she took advantage of the opportunity and gave herself a new identity as a popular cheerleader. She had everything she wanted but one thing, Adam Hood. He just moved into town and she had a huge crush on him. One problem…she wasn’t in any of his classes, so Nora made some “swaps” to get what she wanted. Will her plan work?

I liked the book How Not to Find a Boyfriend because the author really painted a picture of Nora’s life as a normal teenage girl. Although, Nora is far from normal, being a cheerleader that’s taking five advanced classes; which also showed that it’s okay to be yourself. My favorite part of the novel was when Nora compared herself to a butterfly in the first chapter. I would recommend this book to teenage girls who like realistic fiction novels.
