Prettiest Doll by Gina Willner-Pardo

The realistic-fiction book Prettiest Doll by Gina Willner-Pardo explores the life of Olivia, a pretty 13 year old girl with straight blonde hair and pretty brown eyes. She has been winning pageants ever since she was a little girl. Liv's next pageant is the Prettiest Doll, which has a talent portion unlike the others that are pretty much all about looks. For the talent portion, Liv's mom is forcing her to sing thinking that it would wow the judges. However, Liv is a horrible singer. She is tired of practicing for the pageant, so she finds a boy named Danny and they leave boring Missouri together. I recommend this book for teen girls, because they can relate to it. I give this book a rating of 4 out of 5 because there was so much interesting descriptions! Is being tired of the pageants the only reason why Liv leaves home? Why did Danny leave home? Where will they head to? Read to find out!!
