Community Service Opportunities

Teen Reading Blog Orientation  Wednesday September 11, 6-6:30 or Thursday, September 12, 6-6:30
Read Teen Books for our blog and receive community service credit.  You must attend one of the orientation programs to participate.  No registration required.  

Project Excel's Why Try DXY907  Wednesdays, September 25, October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, 5:45-6:45 pm (DH)
This weekly interactive training program encourages students to stay focused on the future, and build healthy, positive relationships.  It answers the question WHY Try in life? Registration begins 9/9.

Teen Advisory Board Meeting DXY908 Thursday, October 24, 7 pm (DH)
Learn about resources in the library and community.  Registration begins 9/9.

Ariella's Friendship Circle DXY909 Monday, September 16, 7 pm (DH)
Freindship Circle welcomes teens looking for community service to an evening of sensitivity training to become a volunteer and work with children with special needs.  Registration begins 9/9.

Homework Help Mondays DXY910 Mondays October 7, 21, 28, November 4, 11, 18, 25, December 2, 9, 16 (no class 10/14), 7-8 pm (DH)
Help kids with homework one on one.  Registration begins 9/13.

Homework Help Thursdays DXY911 Thursdays October 10 17, 24, 31, November 7, 14, 21, December 5, 12, 19 (no class 11/28), 4-5 pm (DH)

Lego Display DXY912 Thursday, October 17, 7 pm (DH)
Volunteer to build the NASA space station and space shuttle out of legos for display in the teen area for this years Teen Read Week:  Seek the Unknown @ Your Library!.  Registration begins 9/9.
