Ben Bright is a talented young actor/ singer in the book, Somebody Please Tell Me Who I Am by Harry Mazer and Peter Lerangis. Everyone expects Ben to have a promising future. However, that is far from the truth. Confusion occurs when Ben’s friends and family find out that he is enlisting in the army. They try to talk him out of it, but Ben is stubborn. As a result, they reluctantly comply with his wishes. Ben seems to be doing fine when an email sent by him confirms their fears. Ben was going to be deployed into the army. As Ben journeys into the dangers of Iraq, something devastating happens. On September 15, Ben’s whole life dramatically changes by an explosion. He suffers Traumatic Brain Injury and goes into a coma. When Ben awakens from his coma, he has trouble doing even the most basic of skills such as walking and talking. Even worse, Ben doesn’t remember who he is himself or his friends and family. I recommend this book to people who are looking for a speedy and moving story. It touched my heart and was, overall, a great book.
