Dead Is Not An Option by Marlene Perez is the fifth installation in the Dead Is series. In the beginning, Daisy Giordano (the protagonist) is still waiting for her acceptance letter from her dream college, UC Nightshade. But something strange happens: no letters come at all, whether they be acceptance or rejection letters. However, that's not the least of Daisy's worries. One day, as Daisy goes out to get groceries, she encounters Elise Wilder, a shifter, in a shocking state. Elise is at the brink of death and needs to be hospitalized. Daisy reports it to the officials, and soon, more and more attacks pile up until, all over, vampires and shifters are out for blood from their opposing sides. To stress Daisy even more, her old enemy, Circe Silvertongue is back, and even welcomed, some might say. She is the key to help Daisy free Lily and Balthazar from their wretched states as a jukebox and a pig. But will Circe help? And will everything return to normal soon? I recommend this book to people who enjoyed reading New Moon in the Twilight series, or to avid readers of supernatural fiction.
