Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix

The book Among the Hidden is about a boy named Luke who is the third child in the Garner family. In his time, every family was only allowed two children. Luke was the third child for the Garner’s family. He could not be spotted or else he would be sent to the population police. If ever, he would be starved or killed. One day he spotted a person draw the curtains when everyone in the house next door left. Other days he saw light coming from the living room. Then a few days later he got out of his house and snuck in to the other person’s house. He found out there was a girl named Jen who was also a third child. He spent a lot of time at her house. He learned that she hated being stuck in her house. She emailed a bunch of her friends that she and a bunch of friends who will join and assist her and make a rally to protest against the laws. Luke stayed home and weeks after the rally Jen did not make it back. He snuck in to her house. This story was heart racing and exciting if you imagine that you had Luke’s life. If one person saw you your life is over. This is one of the best books I ever read.
